At present, the world's marine equipment technology presents to the deep water, large-scale and automation direction of the development trend, both at home and abroad with the supporting demand for marine engineering equipment has presented a rapid growth trend. Marine engineering equipment industry as China's seven strategic emerging industries, an important part of the development potential is huge, China's compressor industry needs to adjust the direction.
In May 15 by the China South Railway initiated the international deep sea equipment industry development forum, the experts agreed that the deep sea exploration, cooperation, joint research and manufacturing will become a new trend in the industry. At present, accelerate China's deep sea equipment industry resources integration without delay.
Core technology autonomy still need to accelerate the breakthrough
The Global Subsea Market Forecast Report released last year shows that between 2014 and 2018, the total capital expenditure of the global subsea system will reach 117 billion U.S. dollars, compared with the past five years, an increase of more than 80%. The world's deep-sea robotics operations market has accumulated more than $9.7 billion in operational expenditures since 2013, and the Chinese market has increased by more than 40% per year. It is expected that by 2020, the annual sales scale of domestic offshore equipment manufacturing industry will reach 400 billion yuan.
In recent years, under the call of “ocean power” strategy, China has made some breakthroughs in deep-sea equipment. In the marine oil and gas development, after decades of technical accumulation, China has formed a “five types of seven ships” of the marine oil exploration sequence, sea oil engineering “deep sea fleet” took shape.
But in the view of experts, compared with the international advanced level, China's overall deep sea equipment technology still has a small gap, especially in the deep water, green, safe marine high-tech field, China's foundation is relatively weak, the lack of innovation ability, core technologies, equipment and systems mainly rely on imports.
Zhongnan University Professor, China Oceanic Association Chief Scientist Liu Shaojun said, deep-sea mineral resources are endowed with thousands of meters of the seabed, the need for specialized equipment for mining, China has also launched a useful exploration, but there is still the seabed extreme environment of complex terrain heavy-duty operation robot and other key technical challenges that need to be resolved.
According to authoritative statistics, in China's construction of marine oil and gas development equipment, supporting equipment localization rate of less than 10% on average. There is an urgent need to promote the research and development of core technologies and key common technologies. In particular, the deep-sea pipe-laying system, deep-sea riser system and other key systems supply capacity, independent design and manufacture of underwater equipment, mastering the 3000-meter deep-sea oil and gas field development required for the design and construction of compressors and other equipment, such as the ability to accelerate breakthroughs.
Need to further integrate industrial and technological resources
In the field of deep-sea robotics, the market has broad prospects and strong growth. However, due to the high technical threshold, large investment, belonging to the “aristocrats” of offshore equipment technology, domestic enterprises involved in this field are very few.
For this status quo, the state encourages domestic strength and experience of large enterprises through cooperation with foreign countries and independent research and development, and gradually master the core technology to achieve local industrialization.
Not long ago, CSR Times Electric, a subsidiary of CSR, acquired SMD, the world's third-ranked British company in the field of offshore engineering, which is regarded as filling the domestic gap in the industrialization of deep-sea robotic equipment, and also taking a key step to build a deep-sea equipment industry cluster for CSR.
“CSR's merger and acquisition of SMD has provided a favorable exploration for accelerating the breakthrough of key technologies in China's deep-sea engineering equipment. However, these efforts are far from enough, and it is necessary to further integrate industrial and technological resources, adhere to the combination of industry, academia, research and utilization, share resources and work together to contribute to the development of China's marine industry.” Liu Feng, director of COMRA, said.
According to reports, at present, CSR has formed an ocean engineering equipment industry cluster including offshore wind power business, ocean ship industry, construction machinery and drilling rigs.
Fu Jianguo, vice president of CSR, said that in the future, CSR should give full play to SMD's technical strength and industrialization experience in the field of deep-sea equipment, while cooperating with domestic universities, research institutes and outstanding enterprises to jointly promote the rapid development of China's deep-sea equipment industry.
